Same-Day Affirmation (SDA): What is it and why should Europe care?
Same-day affirmation (SDA) should be an aspiration for the financial industry to work towards if it is to increase efficiency, reduce risk and thus increase stability. Furthermore, initiatives such as harmonisation of settlement practices across EU countries and the potential shortening the settlement cycle could be achieved more easily in an environment where firms have adopted more consistent and efficient trade verification processes.

Omgeo resurrects the dream of the GSTPA
With the proposed launch of a tripartite trade matching and netting service between fund managers, executing brokers and custodian banks or prime brokers acting as custodians to hedge fund managers, Omgeo and EuroCCP (the European central counterparty clearing house owned by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, DTCC) is looking to inch the securities industry closer to that original dream.
