Omgeo and Brown Brothers Harriman Announce Transformational Trade Lifecycle Solution for Global Investment Community

SIBOS, Boston – October 2, 2007 –
OmgeoSM and Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (BBH) today announced that BBH Infomediary’s® settlements messaging functionality is available within Omgeo ConnectSM to help eliminate manual processes and reduce risks, costs and trade failures. This significant relationship enables a transformational trade lifecycle management solution for the global investment community.

For the first time, the investment management community has access to both BBH Infomediary’s post-trade communications platform and Omgeo’s allocation and matching infrastructure via a single solution. External messaging via Infomediary includes outbound settlement notifications to custodians, accounting agents, securities lending providers and other interested parties. In addition, BBH Infomediary routes settlement status and confirmation messages back to Omgeo for inclusion within the Omgeo Connect transaction lifecycle monitoring interface.

Prior to the availability of this solution investment management firms were confronted with separate processes for (1) trade allocation and matching, (2) a full message set for settlement notification to custodians and interested parties, and (3) settlement/fail management. These disparate parts allowed for potential failed trades and settlement errors and required firms to maintain multiple interfaces.

Today, the new offering allows users to see an executed trade allocated and matched via Omgeo Connect as well as the settlements process via Infomediary, all through a single interface. Operational groups can now manage a trade more holistically, as the front, middle and back office have the same view into the post-trade execution process.

Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management, a diversified global investment firm with over 20 years’ experience, is live on Omgeo Connect, leveraging the settlements management functionality of BBH Infomediary. The implementation of Omgeo Connect at Nicholas-Applegate has allowed the firm to enhance its state based, trade processing capabilities with all trade notification and exception processing handled through one interface. “A single, integrated platform for international and domestic trade processing and exception management has been a core objective within our Operations group for some time,” said Chris Cieri, SVP and Director of Operations at Nicholas-Applegate. “Our work with Omgeo and BBH as a pilot firm for this functionality is allowing us to realize that objective. The Trade Operations team will be supporting all our trade processing activity on a single platform, further enabling the team’s move from a transaction processing model to one focused on exception management and controlling operational risk.”

“More and more, clients are concerned with the challenges that come with managing multiple interfaces for various products,” said Steve Matthews, managing director, product at Omgeo. “The industry agrees that a single point of access is the best way to reduce risks, costs and failures associated with maintaining multiple interfaces and infrastructures. Omgeo and BBH recognize the importance of open architecture within the industry to provide such best-of-breed solutions to counterparties. We are pleased to leverage our shared vision with BBH to streamline the post-trade world further via this functionality within Omgeo Connect.”

“We were thrilled to be selected by Omgeo as the transaction messaging platform for Connect,” said Christopher Remondi, SVP and global head of BBH’s Infomediary product. “Infomediary delivering trade messages via SWIFT, FTP and Facsimile on the back of Omgeo’s transformational Connect product is the first time the market will realize a single end-to-end solution for matching, allocation, trade delivery and settlement confirmation across such a broad array of asset classes.”

The BBH Infomediary functionality within Omgeo Connect is available now for investment managers.
